In the Beginning... PermaCold Engineering, Inc. of Portland, Oregon, was started in December of 1993 with the goal of bringing a new standard of professional excellence in the engineering and construction of industrial refrigeration systems for the food and process industries of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Since that recent start, we have rapidly become one of the largest industrial refrigeration contracting organizations in the region. Our success thus far has been driven by customer acceptance and satisfaction. The work that we do involves a vast array of industrial refrigeration applications utilizing both ammonia and Freon refrigerants. In addition to our engineering and construction activities, PermaCold also provides full repair services and a full line parts sales capability. We have also been quite active in supplying assistance to our customers in the important areas of energy efficiency and regulatory safety compliance as they relate to industrial refrigeration systems.

This effort extends from the very first engineering calculation, to the CAD computer screen, to the field site management of the project, to the very last weld on the piping, to the system pressure test and, finally, to the proper start-up of the system.
